Meursault,
a village of character

At the heart of wine-growing Burgundy, Meursault embodies the elegance of a vibrant rural village, rooted in its traditions and looking toward the future.

Meursault : place du village

Meursault, an emblematic commune of the Côte de Beaune, charms visitors with its Burgundian architecture, its art of living, and the dynamism of its local life.

Between golden stone buildings, glazed tile roofs, and lively streets, a village alive all year round unfolds: winegrowing families, passionate artisans, a friendly market, schools, and festivities shape everyday life.

Meursault - cathédrale

It is a place where heritage meets daily life, where the beauty of the landscapes is matched by the warm welcome of its inhabitants, in the pure tradition of Burgundian hospitality.

A vineyard
of global prestige

Meursault is a name that resonates worldwide as a promise of great white wines born from an exceptional terroir.

The Meursault vineyard covers

nearly 400 hectares,
planted with 97% Chardonnay and 3% Pinot Noir.

The Climats, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015,

are divided between Village AOCs and Premier Crus, forming a mosaic of parcels with nuanced expressions. These rich, refined, and precise wines have built Meursault’s reputation for centuries.

More than 80 family estates

continue to uphold ancestral expertise, and some offer tastings, tours, and unforgettable encounters.

A rooted economy
looking to the future

Combining winegrowing tradition, high-end tourism, and local services, Meursault asserts its identity as an economically active and well-structured village.

A living
& precious heritage

Meursault is also home to remarkable built heritage, bearing witness to a rich history and a deep connection to the land.

Saint-Nicolas Church, a Renaissance château, washhouses, vaulted cellars, and winemakers’ houses form a unique architectural ensemble. Every corner of the village tells a chapter of local history, from the medieval period to the present day. The vineyard landscapes, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, contribute to this strong identity. Discovery trails and guided tours allow visitors to immerse themselves in the soul of the village at their own pace.

A discreet yet vibrant
cultural life

Behind its apparent calm, Meursault nurtures a lively creativity shaped by artists, events, and traditions.

Many model railway enthusiasts will show their interest and their desire to create ambitious projects exclusively for our exhibition!

Indeed, new layouts and dioramas will be specially created for the Meursault exhibition.
